Directions from Galena
We are located just 15 minutes from downtown Chicago and 3 hours east of Galena, IL.
When coming from Galena, just take the highway US20 east towards Rockford/Chicago for about 85 miles.
Then, take I-39N to the I-90 N/W tollway exit toward Chicago, and take I-90E east towards Chicago for about 50 miles.
Then, take the IL-53S/290E exit toward Chicago and continue on 290E going east for about 20 more miles.
Take the Harlem exit off 290, make a left turn on Harlem (so that you're going north on Harlem).
Make a right turn on Lake Street.
You will see the Shaker Building on your left-hand side. It is a large building with green awnings, located on Marion and Lake Street.


For Parking
Continue down Lake Street until you see the first traffic light, which is Marion Ave.
Make a left turn on Marion Ave (between Barbara's Bookstore and Chase Bank) and make a left turn into the Holly Court parking lot immediately behind the building.
Go past the metered parking spaces in the parking lot and enter the parking structure.
Parking is free for the first hour in this parking structure. Parking is only $1 for the hour after that.
You can enter the building from the back entrance.

Location of Galena within Illinois

Galena, IL, or "the top of Illinois", is a hilly town with a population of 3,460 and over a million visitors each year. Galena is named after the mineral Galena, or lead sulfide, which, along with Army generals, was the main export of Galena, IL.
