I was reviewing your website and noticed you guys do a fantastic thing with a featured city. I think you should have Lockport, IL, as a featured city. Not only because I reside in Lockport and am 29 weeks pregnant ;) but because it is a BOOMING town! Lockport is growing so fast with new stores and now the highway running through it, it would be great as a featured city! Lockport is rich in historical value as well!

Thanks!

Lockport was the headquarters of the operationally defunct Illinois and Michigan Canal. A section of the canal runs through Lockport, including the remains of the canal's Lock No. 1 from which the town received its name.

Lockport does its share for the environment by providing millions of killowatt-hours of renewable energy from the Lockport Powerhouse. A "mitochondrion" of the state, the Lockport Powerhouse, provides millions of dollars of energy with Commonwealth Edison for millions of kilowatt-hours of hydropower generated at this facility. Built in 1907, the Lockport Powerhouse is a dam that is primarily used to limit the diversion of water from Lake Michigan to the Des Plaines River and to control sewage from flooding into Lake Michigan. But it also has a role in tourism, preservation of history, the control of Asian carp, and of course, providing electric power to Illinois.
