Directions from Mendota, IL
We are located just 15 minutes from downtown Chicago and 1 hour and 45 minutes from Mendota, IL.

When coming from Mendota, just take US-34 east for 3 miles until you get to I-39.
Turn left onto the I-39/US-51 ramp toward Rockford, going north.
Continue on I-39N going north for about 25 miles until you reach I-88E..
Continue east on I-88 for about 60 miles, and merge onto 290E.
Continue east on 290 for another 4 miles.
Take the Harlem exit, exit number 21B. This exit will be on the left hand side of the highway.
Turn left on Harlem, going north, for 1 mile, until you reach Lake Street.
Make a right turn on Lake Street.
You will see the Shaker Building on your left-hand side. It is a large building with green awnings, located on Marion and Lake Street.


For Parking
Continue down Lake Street until you see the first traffic light, which is Marion Ave.
Make a left turn on Marion Ave (between Barbara's Bookstore and Chase Bank) and make a left turn into the Holly Court parking lot immediately behind the building.
Go past the metered parking spaces in the parking lot and enter the parking structure.
Parking is free for the first hour in this parking structure. Parking is only $1 for the hour after that.
You can enter the building from the back entrance.

Mendota, IL, the "World's Greatest Little City," is located west of the Chicago metropolitan area, with a population of about 7,272 people. It is the fifth largest city in LaSalle County. The city has a total of 3.9 square miles. It is a very small city. The Mendota Sweet Corn Festival attracts thousands of visitors each August; it features a parade, carnival, beer garden with live bands, free sweet corn cooked in a vintage steam engine, and other special events. The city closes down several streets in the downtown area to host the annual event. This festival has the added benefit of giving away the tons of extra corn that was harvested and could not be sold. The city has two lakes, Lake Mendota and Lake Kakusha. The city had only one high school until recently, but a new Mendota Township High School was built in 2002.
