Gender Check Guarantee
At First Peek Ultrasound, we offer gender checks earlier than any other 3D ultrasound center in the
Chicagoland area.
We begin to check the gender of the baby starting at 15 weeks. Although it is difficult to check the gender of the baby
at this time, we want to provide this service to all the pregnant women who want to know as soon as possible.
We are able to accurately detect the gender of the baby on the first attempt over 70-75% of the time at 15 weeks,
and over 90-95% of the time after 17 weeks, but sometimes it does take more than one visit.
Being able to determine the gender depends on a variety of factors, including how far along you are in your pregnancy,
the size of the baby, the size of the mother, whether you are having a boy or a girl, and the position of your baby.
Also, the position of the umbilical cord and the position of the placenta makes a difference.
We know that finding out the sex of your baby is very important. If we can not determine the gender of your baby for any reason,
you may return again within one month for no additional charge. You can return as many times as is necessary for us
to determine the gender of your baby. This is our Gender Check Guarantee.
For as long as we are unable to determine the gender of the baby,
there is no limit to the number of times you can come in for free to determine the gender.
Of course, we hope to determine the gender within one or two visits, and three visits are very rarely needed.
If, in rare circumstances, we can not determine the gender even after 3 visits,
we will give you the option of continuing to return again for free or issuing you a refund for the gender check.
When can I return for the free return gender check?
Free return gender checks are scheduled Monday to Friday to allow for as many new customers who are bringing family to book on Saturday.
However, if you live out of state or are traveling from far, we can make an exception for you and schedule your free return gender check
on a Saturday as well.
What if you get the gender wrong?
Determining the gender is never
100% until after the baby is born. However, if we determine the gender one way and you later find out
that the gender is determined differently, please call us and, as a courtesy, we will reimburse the price you paid for your gender check
and allow you to come back to us for
free for a
Premium Package.
We offer the reimbursement and free return visit in order to
assure our customers that getting the gender wrong, although possible, is a rare event at
First Peek Ultrasound,
and we aim to make it as infrequent as possible.
Of course, you do have to call us to get this reimbursement and free package, and we will invite you to return to our clinic for free
to recheck the gender before providing reimbursement and a free Premium Package. This is because it has already happened to us
eight times
this year that we have checked the gender correctly at 15 weeks, and the ob/gyn determined the gender incorrectly at the medical ultrasound
at 20 weeks, and we then found out that we in fact determined the gender correctly. On the other hand, we have determined the gender incorrectly
five times during the last two and a half years. (Three babies were at 16 weeks gestation, one was at 17 weeks, and the other one was at
19 weeks gestation.)
Please note, ob/gyn physicians do not check the gender until at least 18 weeks, and usually not until after 20 weeks, because their focus
is diagnostic and medical ultrasounds. We perform gender checks as early as
15 weeks because our focus is on gender checks and we have been
performing gender checks as early as
15 weeks for the last two years.
